Health

Comprehensive medical coverage to support your health

When it comes to your health, Dow has you covered by providing you with a choice of medical options and the flexibility to choose what suits you based on your needs and budget. Each offers comprehensive coverage, preventive care and has an out-of-pocket maximum to protect you from catastrophic costs.

Preventive care services are designed to help you stay healthy and include things like annual check-ups, immunizations and routine screenings. Staying on top of your health with preventive care is the best way to see where things are going well and where you may need to focus to prevent bigger problems from developing. Medical carriers have guidelines for what is generally covered as preventive care, which varies based on your age, gender and family history.

It’s important to note that some procedures may require prior authorization. Prior authorization is the requirement that your provider gets approval from your insurance plan before prescribing you medication or doing a medical procedure. If you do not get prior authorization when it’s required, your benefits will be reduced, or in some instances, not paid at all.

Personify Health: Your health and wellbeing partner

Making your health a priority is easier when you can do it wherever and whenever you want. Personify Health helps improve or maintain good health through convenient resources — right at your fingertips. With the online portal or mobile app, you’ll have access to programs and resources to help you get active, sleep better, manage your finances, find emotional balance and more — so you can prioritize your wellbeing in the way that works for you. Additionally, as a Dow employee, you can earn credits annually that you can redeem through the global store within the Dow Wellbeing Portal.

Dow recently introduced two specialty programs to help you better manage your health and achieve your personal goals:

  • Hinge Health’s virtual programs combine gentle exercise with 1-on-1 support to help reduce joint and muscle pain. Take advantage of your Hinge Health benefit.
  • If you’re enrolled in an Aetna medical plan, Maven provides access to holistic care for women and families, including fertility and family building support, maternity and newborn care, menopause and ongoing care. Learn more.

Wealth

Helping you build your retirement readiness

Planning for retirement is an important step you can take toward feeling financially secure — and participating in the Dow Savings Plan, or 401(k), can help. Whether you’re a seasoned saver with the Savings Plan or you’re just getting started, the math is on your side. That’s because Dow helps you contribute with:

  • Company matching contributions: Dow contributes 5% of eligible pay when you contribute at least 6%.
  • Automatic non-elective company contribution: Dow makes a contribution equal to 4% of your eligible pay whether or not you’re contributing.

That means Dow contributes up to 9% of your eligible pay to your retirement savings each year. Learn more by reviewing the Employees’ Savings Plan article (KB0046032) or logging into your account.

Building your retirement nest egg

As you're thinking about your retirement, be sure to consider your Dow pension benefits (if applicable). While Dow has stopped pension accruals as of December 31, 2023, any benefits you earned as of that date remain available. Use the Pension Modeler available through the Dow U.S. Benefits Site to view your final pension benefits (select Prepare for Your Future > Model My Retirement Income).

Student debt: Make your money work for you

With Dow’s Student Debt Retirement Savings Match program, your student loan payments count as contributions to your account in the Savings Plan — making them eligible for the company matching contributions. When you enroll in the program, Dow will apply your monthly student loan payments as if they are contributions to your Savings Plan — helping you build your future savings while paying off today’s debt. For questions, please contact the Fidelity Student Loans Service Center at (866) 711-0350.

Health Savings Account: Use it now OR in the future

If you’re enrolled in the High Deductible Medical Plan and meet the eligibility requirements, you have access to a Health Savings Account (HSA), which allows you to set aside tax-free money to pay for eligible health care expenses now or in the future. The money in your HSA is yours to keep — even when you retire. There are many advantages to the HSA:

  • Triple tax savings. The money goes into your account tax-free, grows tax-free and comes out tax-free when you use it to pay for eligible expenses.
  • Money rolls over year after year. Any money you don’t spend can be saved year after year to pay for future expenses, including expenses you incur in retirement.
  • You’re in control. You can stop, start or change your contributions at any time during the year. Plus, you can invest your money in a variety of investment options through Fidelity.
